Built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard for connecting AI systems to outside data and tools, the server enables AI agents to query Lightcast labor market data directly, rather than relying on training data or web search results. When a user asks a workforce question, their AI can use the MCP to identify the appropriate dataset, apply consistent definitions for occupations and skills, and retrieve relevant figures on hiring demand, wages, talent supply, and labor market trends.
